Background:
Banks, NBFCs and other Financial Institutions are handling an ever-increasing volume of data including personally identifiable information of individual customers. This requires dynamic strategies and processes to ensure data privacy, protection and integrity on a continuous basis while also ensuring its availability. Key attributes of good data management include efficient data processing, robust data security and principled data usage from governance and strategic perspectives. Increasing volume of data flowing through banks and into their database has to be handled in responsible and efficient ways, keeping in view reputational, legal and regulatory risks, providing assurance to their Boards that data is secured and data privacy is ensured.
