Background:
The Company Secretaries and the Secretaries to the Boards of Banks, NBFCs & FI play a significant role for improved Corporate Governance and overall board effectiveness in an organisation by acting as a bridge between the Board and the executives. Governance involves an evolution of Board and leadership practices to ensure financial integrity, investor confidence, stakeholder engagement and sustainable performance –all by adoption of appropriate governance practices and powered by technology. Accordingly, the Company Secretaries and the officials working in the Board secretariat has to be hands on, on the extant framework for governance prescribed by the various regulators.
Objective:
This program will provide an opportunity to the company secretaries to enhance their understanding of the responsibilities and knowledge required for effective company secretarial work, and thus playing an important role between Governance, Compliance and Secretarial functions. During the program deliberations on the modern governance and how to improve the functioning of the role and responsibilities of company secretaries in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements will be discussed.
