Indian banks have been responding to the changing economic environment and competition by introducing change management or transformation programs over the years either with internal expertise and / or with external consulting. It is important for banks to understand the phenomenon of conceiving and implementing transformation across banks to assess effectiveness of the response. It will not only lead to benefit of cross learning but also help smaller banks from experiences of bigger banks. By studying the patterns, a common threads can be traced which will help in re-examining and strengthening future directions. Stock taking and learnings from past experiences and grasping new socio economic reality of digitisation, financial inclusion, and Indian demography would help in conceiving for ideas way forward. Imbibing new technological innovations like big data analytics into transformation programs can bring paradigm shift in people and process management and customer service.
The objective of the program is to discuss the key aspects of change management in banks and to formulate strategy to ensure effective implementation of change management for optimum and sustainable outcome. The program would mainly focus on the issues, challenges, various steps in transformation programs of banks and would focus on modalities of change management in view of upcoming issues in Indian banking.
